The evening will showcase short films from young filmmakers from London and Manchester, exploring the themes, ideas and influences behind their work. It will be an opportunity not only to spotlight rising filmmakers, but also to celebrate women, feminism and film alongside a community of inspired young creatives.

With Brydges Place Events surrounded by creativity and the arts, we will begin the evening in Purple at 7:30pm, screening a selection of four short films. Following the screenings, we will invite the filmmakers into conversation to discuss the themes and influences behind their projects, their creative processes, and the challenges they have faced as young directors.

After the screening and discussion, guests will be invited down to the Chandos bar for drinks and an informal opportunity to meet the filmmakers and film crews. This will create a space for Brydges Place members and creatives to connect, exchange ideas and build new relationships within the creative community.

Logline: Through a series of comedic mishaps, a group of girlfriends eagerly battle amongst themselves to seize the attention and win the heart of the local heartthrob lifeguard.

4. Culling

Logline: In 1605, Grace escapes persecution as she flees into the forest. Taking refuge with two outcast women, she soon realises it is her own mind she cannot escape.

Supporting Reclaim the Frame

All ticket proceeds from the evening will be donated to Reclaim the Frame, the chosen charity of  May Huaraka and Amélie Ingrouille. Reclaim the Frame champions marginalised perspectives in cinema and connects audiences through community, conversation and shared experiences.

Throughout this evening, Evie’s Collective and the women aim to create a space where emerging female filmmakers can be seen, heard and celebrated by the club, while bringing together Brydges Place members and young creatives passionate about film, feminism and the arts.
